  • Last night @goldieawards was fun! Well done @milesmedina @djyuto_ @dj_rafik @vekked @johnbeeztheone @djkswizz @3two1blastoff and @atrak for putting on your first battle 👊🏾 #kayper #goldieawards
  • Ok so I lied a little when I said this was my first ever battle. I was in a dj battle sponsored by Vestax about 15 years ago. It was a national battle and yes I did win it and went on to have a pretty decent career as a club dj. But seeing as this is a world battle and I'm in the final 8, this is technically my first WORLD battle and I'm up against the best battle Dj's you will ever see on the planet even though I'm not a battle dj which is kind of weird and cool at the same time. I was asked by someone to enter this, never thought I'd make it this far so let's see wah gwan tonight! In the words of Shabaam Sahdeeq - "let me show you what I'm made of, you bleed like me". Looking forward to seeing someone get murked tonight! #kayper #ukrepresent #goldieawards
  • Back in London this week. Looking forward to being a part of this amazing week long writing camp @tileyardstudios with @prsformusic and #Repost @weareshewrites (@get_repost) #kayper ・・・
Next Monday, 60+ writers will gather over a week long writing camp to write for major artists and major labels. Some are signed, some are unsigned - they are all women. Every single song will be produced, engineered and written by women. This is the UK's first all-female writing camp.
It's long overdue: this is sheWrites @weareshewrites
  • To all the real DJ's around the world, who have worked their asses off for years and years, grinding, rocking parties week in week out, with little recognition, who never get a big up or a thank you from anyone but quietly do their job because they just simply love djing....you deserve to be acknowledged. Let me represent for you in this competition because you are exactly what #realdjing is about. Big up @atrak @goldieawards for making this happen! #Repost @atrak (@get_repost)
Meet @kayperofficial, finalist in the @goldieawards battle coming up this week! Even though she's been rocking parties for years and she's official on the cut, this is her first battle. Watch the full interview at smarturl.it/GAFinalists

Very few can transition from being a Turntablist DJ to BBC radio presenter to producer with ease. Kayper is an anomaly within today's DJ culture. With a career spanning over 2 decades, Kayper is proof that longevity is achieved from processing pure talent from the outset.

Her turntable skills and stand out live shows have earned her residencies and headlines slots at some of the world's most renowned and exclusive nightclubs, including Ministry of Sound (London), Marquee (New York) and Hakkasan (Las Vegas).

Alongside the club shows, she has also played internationally at festivals from Neon Carnival Coachella, Lollapalooza, SXSW, Glastonbury and Amsterdam Dance Event.

Not bad for someone who did not plan on having a career in DJing. From a very early age, Kayper had her sights set on producing music. After graduating from University with a BSc degree in Music Technology, she directed her focus more twords production.

Kayper made her debut as a producer when she collaborated with the electronic collective Engine Earz on the track "Gimme Some" which was co-signed by Diplo and released on his label Mad Decent in 2011.

Her first solo single 'Magic Faces' gained the attention of BBC 6 music, 1Xtra and key blogs such as Hypertrak and Hunger Magazine who described the track as having "80's & 90's R&B influences over a housey, 2-step vibe."

Her follow up single, 'Out My Mind', has surpassed 2 million streams on Spotify, garnered substantial airplay on BBC Radio 1 and received a glowing review from Pitchfork. Kayper's success continued with her next single 'Someone', which was released June of 2014 on Spinnin' Records.

In 2015, Kayper began working with the electronic and house label Eton Messy. With her first EP release on the label she collaborated with talented artists such as Jonny Winston - who features on Kayper's "What You Say", as well as Janai who guest vocals on "Terminal". Both tracks received heavy acclaim from publications such as Clash who branded "What You Say" as "an ultra-stylish piece of summertime house" as well as Hell Hound Music who commented on Kayper's "melodic and sophisticated style that only a well-seasoned producer can accomplish."
